Articles and Lyrics

Posted in , ,

Once again, I am writing about me and all the mundaneity that comes with being me. I suppose that's what personal blogs are for anyway, so quit your yapping and just read.

I tried my hand again at song writing after a really long while. I figured since my schedule's pretty much wide open right now I might as well do something to keep the old noodle working. As it turns out, I make a pretty good lyricist if I say so myself. I was with a buddy of mine last night, and I was helping him write a song for this new band that they were forming. Nah, my band days are over. Way over.

Anyway, I wrote some lyrics and he laced them with chords on his guitar. We only made it up to the first verse and the chorus because the booze started to kick in. I just hope the song makes it on to their planned album, if they get around to recording. Me, the lyricist. Wouldn't that be awesome?

I noticed there wasn't enough sh*t happening in my life lately, so my blogging has been dead in the water. So as much as it pains me to write about me, myself and I over and over again, here I am. I am slowly learning that sneezing on command is easier than finding the inspiration to write. And it's really hard to sneeze at will.

I know you're trying to sneeze right now but you can't. See?

I'm preparing myself mentally for something I'll have to painstakingly endure for one entire night - my high school reunion. I know I'll be hearing plenty of gasps and comments that talk about me being left in the kitchen too long. While I'm looking forward to seeing old faces, friends whom I haven't seen in nearly 15 years, I'm not exactly looking forward to seeing the look on their faces when they see me.

I can't wait to get the reunion over and done with. Maybe then I'll get enough sh*t to write about.

Oh and wish me luck, readers. Yes, all 5 or 6 of you. I'll be working full time soon, and I sure hope things work out. I really want to stay out of the call center business if I can avoid it. I just want to keep writing and learning until I can't write or learn anymore.

Or maybe just until I find out I'm related to Bill Gates or something.

Poker Face

I just think this version's way cooler than the original. Leave it to someone like Chris Daughtry to turn crap like this into real music. Credit goes to my colleague Jules for telling me Daughtry had this version of Poker Face. I liked this video so much that it earned a spot on my blog. Besides, I couldn't think of anything else that was interesting enough to write about today. So here's the video, folks. Enjoy!

...can't read my, can't read my, no you can't read my poker face...

Susan Boyle's Got Talent

Posted in , ,

Recently I stumbled upon a very interesting and truly inspiring video on a friend's profile on Facebook. Being the insatiably curious geek that I am, I did a little research and found out that the video showed Susan Boyle, a 47-year old Scottish amateur singer and church volunteer, and her amazing performance on the talent reality show Britain's Got Talent. Boyle, who admits that she has never been kissed, never been married, stunned the show's audience with her unexpectedly remarkable rendition of Les Misérables' classic, "I Dreamed A Dream".

I found this interesting article that sums up how much Boyle's performance on Britain's Got Talent made such a huge impact on the world wide web. You also have to see Jay Leno's parody of Susan Boyle on the Tonight Show. Now you know you've made it big as an instant celebrity when people like Jay Leno does a parody of you.

She even has her own fan site now.

If you had access to the Internet in the last 24 to 48 hours, chances are you've already seen her video on Youtube. If you haven't,well I would've loved to upload the video here but Blogger simply won't cooperate. So for now, we'll settle for
this link. I love seeing the looks on their faces when she sang that first line. You know you made a great impression when you see Simon smile like that!

UPDATE: I think this will work, thanks to a very phenomenologik suggestion I have the video of Susan Boyle's performance embedded via HTML. Thanks!

Yep you read the title - another bullet blog.

I told my buddy Lio Loco I wouldn't blog about the death of Francis M. So I won't. If I did, I would've said I felt sad because like Sir Kiko I too am a musician wannabe)and former drug user (has-been). But I said I wouldn't write about that, so I won't.

I really want to get one of those Mikropono shirts by FMCC though.

I've been thinking a lot lately, and thinking has never been one of my best talents. I want a complete turn-around. Its high time I started making something out of this pathetic existence. I uh... just haven't figured out what to make of it yet.

The Challenge continues. I honestly don't think I'll really get anywhere with this, but being the egotistical blockhead that I am, I'm not giving up that easily.

Appearances. Why do people look at me like that? Society dictates that aesthetics is humanity's popularity barometer. You just have to look good to get noticed. If you're fat and ugly, you get noticed too but for all the wrong reasons. Cruel, but true. But who wants to be popular anyway? Hypocrites.

Haha, sour-graping.

Its funny how I try to waltz around a particular topic I want to write about. I'm just afraid she might stumble upon my page one day and read all the incoherent thoughts about her that spill from my love-sick head into pixels forming into letters that spell words that can never really put across what I want to say to her anyway. It doesn't make sense, I know.

The infernal heat must be getting to my head. Look up, I was talking about this head. Curse my lucky shades.

Razon's halo-halo really is the best in town. She looked so sweet. I mean, the halo-halo was sweet.

I am dying to go out of town. Or at least take a dip in a pool. I want to go swimming on a regular basis. Kalbong Intsik, help me out!

I feel sad that the forum's been awfully quiet lately. There used to be new posts each day, but now every time I visit I just see me. What's up with you people?

I need a break. I need to be away from it all for a while. I miss my dark corner. At least nobody talks about how I look there. I wanna curl up so nobody can see me.

Shet emo.

The thing about bullet blogs is its hard to throw in a sensible end to it. But then nothing seems to be making sense to me nowadays anyway. So in light of all the fear, sadness and confusion around me, I think its only fitting that I end this with the words of the late Francis Magalona.

Huwag ka mabahala
May nagbabantay sa dilim
Nag-aabang sa sulok at may
Hawak na patalim
Di ka hahayaan na muli pang masaktan
Huwag ka nang matakot sa dilim

What Now?

Posted in , , ,

Here I am again. I dunno, I just felt like letting my fingers loose on my keyboard again. Maybe I’ll finally get to write something that makes sense tonight. Just maybe. Nobody reads this shit anyway.

So I got a new job again. New, in the sense that my ID will just display a different company logo, but all things considered I practically crept my way back from obscure depression into masochistic passivity. But who knows? Maybe I’ll enjoy making senselessly repetitive conversation with all those faceless morons again. I can hardly wait.

I patched things up with an old buddy yesterday. I sorta pissed him off by nagging him into helping me get a job in the call center that he works for, only for him to find out after telling all his co-workers how great and reliable I was, that I AWOL-ed a week after getting signed up. I still feel bad about what I did but I had my reasons. I just feel better now that we’re OK.

Pop quiz time. How many idiots does it take to ruin a perfectly good friendship? Just one, me. Even though she says we’re back to being our old abnormal selves again I can’t help but feel like she’s already made a decision to keep her distance. It feels awfully weird really. I hate it. Why couldn’t have I just kept my mouth shut that night. Oh well. If you’re reading this, you think you’ve got problems? I haven’t even begun to tell you.

And to the guys who I had the privilege of playing with tonight, I know last night’s performance wasn’t going to win us any Grammy Awards but hey, they ought to give us a break. After all, we’re talking about shitty instruments and misappropriated funding here. Add to that the fact that we’re kinda short on band members, and what you get is a mediocre performance that would make even Willie Revillame sound less annoying. But all is not lost guys. If anything, this could be our chance to make the elders see how badly we need their support, if they wanna keep the music playing during our seminars, right? See I told you there’s always something good about everything. Wait was that optimism? Who are you and what are you doing inside my head?

I think I’ll stop this pretentious ego-trip right about now and call it a night. Who said I’d write anything that actually made sense anyway? And stop drooling Tom, she’s perfectly capable of carrying her own boobs. Grr!

Music Madness

What can I say!? Here’s a review. (edit - yeah, right.) I’m going gaga over my toy (shown here)! Now that I’ve found a way to download stuff at work, I’ve had the chance to get the music that I want and save it in my player! Good stuff, great buy. Good music! Old school rocks!

Goodbye Enui..

Posted in ,

Another painful lesson learned. Sometimes those we treasure the most are the ones taken away fom us. Its so sad when you realize that she’s no longer there. The past few months felt like they went by so quickly. Oh what a tragedy…

Ennui’s my guitar, by the way. It fell over last night and broke. Aww crap. Anybody got tissue? *sob*
